Lamonte Jacobs, a 21-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2016. Jacobs was attending a block party on Cooper Street, located on Detroit's east side, when an unknown assailant opened fire, fatally wounding him. The incident occurred amidst the Independence Day celebrations, adding a somber note to what was supposed to be a festive occasion.
