Sharietta Jefferson, a 27-year-old woman from Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost her life on May 6, 2017. She was fatally shot in an incident that also claimed the life of Murray Upshaw, a 40-year-old visually impaired man. The shooting occurred at approximately 10:13 p.m. in a family home located in the 8700 block of Epworth in Detroit. The perpetrator of this heinous act was identified as Dante Louis Coker, also known as Dante Binion, who was 21 years old at the time.
