On May 30, 2015, I'Nayah Wright-Trussell, an 8-month-old infant, died in Detroit after a medical emergency. The child's mother, Janee Wright-Trussell, called 911 when I'Nayah stopped breathing. EMT Ann Marie Thomas, who was less than a mile away, delayed her response, leading to widespread criticism and legal consequences.
