In the summer of 2020, the life of a 27-year-old woman from Detroit, Clarita Poole, came to a tragic and violent end. In the early hours of a July morning, a person on their way to the store discovered Poole lying on a west side sidewalk, clad only in a bra and suffering from a gunshot wound to her head. The passerby rushed her to a nearby fire station, from which she was transported to a hospital. Despite medical efforts, Poole was declared brain dead and succumbed to her injuries.
