In the cold of a Detroit evening on January 16, 2025, the life of 32-year-old Uniqua Sanders was tragically cut short. That night, in the parking lot of a liquor store on West Eight Mile Road, Uniqua was found in her vehicle with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. First responders arrived at the scene around 7:21 p.m. but were unable to save her; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
