Corey Harris Thomas, a 17-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, was tragically killed on June 6, 2017, in a shooting incident that occurred during a planned sale of Air Jordan sneakers. Corey, a former student of Grosse Pointe North High School, had arranged to meet Dante Tyrell Ford, then 19 years old, to sell him a pair of Air Jordan sneakers for $160. The meeting took place around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Birwood and Fenkell on Detroit's west side.
