In the quiet community of Williamston, Michigan, the morning of September 8, 2017, was shattered by a tragic discovery. Lisa Marie Willson, a 51-year-old Caucasian woman, was found deceased in her home. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the back of her head, inflicted as she slept. The initial call to the police
came from Lisa's younger son, 19-year-old Andrew Willson, who claimed to have found his mother dead upon returning home. However, inconsistencies in his story and the circumstances at the scene quickly led investigators to suspect his involvement. The Ingham County Sheriff's Office took Andrew into custody as the primary suspect in his mother's homicide. The motive, as it was later revealed, was a disagreement over a puppy Andrew had brought home that his mother would not allow him to keep.
During the investigation, Andrew confessed to the crime. He told detectives that after the argument with his mother, he retrieved a. 22 Magnum rifle from a locked cabinet in the home, entered his mother's bedroom while she was asleep, and shot her.
