Broderick "Brock" Ward, a 42-year-old man from Inkster, Michigan, was found dead on November 21, 2017, in a rental house in Fife Lake, Michigan. Ward had traveled to northern Michigan for a fishing trip with a friend. However, shortly after arriving, he expressed concerns to his family about feeling uncomfortable and unsafe due to racially charged comments and the behavior of locals.
