The life of Travaughn Rox, a 20-year-old Black male from Detroit, Michigan, was tragically cut short on January 27, 2018. Known to his friends and family by the nickname "Jugg," he was a young father who had attended Chandler Park Academy and Martin Luther King Jr. High School before finding employment as a welder at Milton’s Manufacturing. His loved ones described him as a funny, loving, and good-hearted person who enjoyed rap music and attending church, highlighting a personality that was
deeply cherished by those around him.
On that fateful Saturday in late January, police were called to a scene of violence in Detroit where Rox had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The investigation into his death revealed that the shooting was allegedly precipitated by a dispute involving a marijuana transaction. Following the incident, Detroit authorities launched an inquiry that quickly narrowed in on a suspect believed to be responsible for the homicide.
