On the evening of June 20, 2018, Winston Hill, a 26-year-old male, was inside a Marathon gas station on Detroit's west side at the corner of West Chicago and Meyers Road. He was simply charging his cellphone at approximately 10:40 p.m. when the ordinary scene was shattered by sudden violence. Two masked men burst into the gas station and opened fire, the sound of the gunshots audible a block away.
