On a Tuesday evening in Battle Creek, Michigan, the life of 22-year-old Khari Davis was cut short in a burst of violence that would ripple through the community. On October 9, 2018, while sitting in the passenger seat of a van at Claude Evans Park, Davis was fatally shot. He was rushed to Bronson Battle Creek hospital by two companions, but the two gunshot wounds to his head, fired at close range from outside the vehicle, proved fatal. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
