Justin "JT" T. Wood was a 24-year-old White male from Kawkawlin, Michigan, who passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018. Born in Bay County on April 28, 1994, to parents Thomas L. and Janet L. Wood Jr., he was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Western High School. Following his secondary education, he pursued his passion for food, attending Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he earned an Associate of Culinary Arts.
Professionally, he spent
seven years working as a laborer for Roese Contracting and was an active member of the LiUNA Local 1098 Union. Before his time in contracting, he had been employed at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth. Beyond his formal employment, he was known to assist his father with work and often shared his culinary skills with his family. His personal life was defined by his close relationships with his sisters, Megan and Rachel, and his deep affection for his nephew, Brody, with whom he enjoyed spending time singing, dancing, and driving.
His death occurred in Kawkawlin, where he was a member of the St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church community. Funeral services were subsequently held at the church, officiated by Pastor Larry Seafert, with burial following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. He was survived by his parents, sisters, grandmothers, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
