Howard Leon Gillette, aged 58, was found dead in his home in Battle Creek, Michigan, on December 31, 2018. The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a call at his residence on Graves Avenue shortly after midnight on New Year's Day, 2019. Upon arrival, they discovered Gillette's body inside the burning home. An autopsy later revealed that he had been shot multiple times before the fire was set.
