Jamie Mintz, a 70-year-old Vietnam War veteran, was tragically shot and killed in his Detroit home on April 8, 2019. Mintz lived with his granddaughter, who had snuck her 16-year-old boyfriend into their home. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 4:38 a.m., when Mintz discovered the teen and asked him to leave. An argument ensued, leading to a struggle over a gun.
