Byron Gilbert, a 28-year-old man known in the Detroit music scene as DJ Slick B, was fatally shot on Friday, February 7, 2020. The incident occurred on Detroit's west side, near McNichols Road and Ilene Street, as Gilbert and a friend were walking to his vehicle.

The two men were ambushed by assailants who opened fire from a dark-colored SUV. Gilbert was killed in the attack, and his 25-year-old friend was injured. Authorities believe the motive for the shooting was an armed robbery. At t ...
