In the evening hours of April 20, 2020, 37-year-old Jon Moore, was inside his home on Thurman Street, near Brockway in Saginaw, Michigan, when he was fatally shot multiple times. The Saginaw Police Department responded to the scene and discovered Mr. Moore deceased.
An immediate homicide investigation was launched by the Saginaw Police Department in conjunction with Saginaw County 911. The investigation led to the swift arrest of 63-year-old Jon P. LaFramboise. Diligent work by responding officers and detectives, including numerous witness interviews, was credited with the prompt identification and apprehension of the suspect.
Saginaw County Prosecuting Attorney John McColgan Jr. announced that LaFramboise was charged with an open count of murder in connection with Jon Moore's death. He also faced a charge of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, which carries a mandatory consecutive two-year prison sentence. On April 23, 2020, LaFramboise was arraigned by District Judge M. Randall Jurrens and was ordered to be held without bond pending further court proceedings. The death of Jon Moore was one of two separate homicides that occurred in Saginaw on the same day, with murder charges being filed in both cases.
