In the late hours of a Wednesday in Saginaw, Michigan, the discovery of a man's body along a utility trail shattered the quiet of the evening. Dennis Johnson, a 49-year-old Black male known to his friends and family as 'Dinky,' was found on May 17, 2017, near the intersection of 17th and Burt streets. The authorities would soon rule his death a homicide, the result of a fatal shooting. A graduate of Buena Vista High School, Johnson was a familiar face in his community.
