Michael David-Jewel Clopton III, a 21-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on the night of October 6, 2020. The fatal incident occurred inside a residence located in the 100 block of Frank Street in Kalamazoo's Northside neighborhood. At approximately 11 p.m., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a call and discovered Clopton suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
