Known affectionately as 'YaYa' to her loved ones, Yanisha was a mother of
two young children. Her family described her as the cohesive force that held them together, a constant source of love and support. A graduate of Flint Northwestern High School, Yanisha had earned a full-ride scholarship to Saginaw Valley State University, where she excelled on the Women's Track and Field team, breaking numerous records. She cherished spending time with her close friends and family, especially her two children and fiancé.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Deaisha Keishon-Janee Fisher of Flint, who was described as a close friend of Yanisha.
