In the early morning hours of August 15, 2021, the life of Yanisha Monique Edwards, a 28-year-old Black/African American female from Flint, Michigan, was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:40 a.m., Flint Police Department officers responded to the vicinity of Lapeer Road and Howard Avenue where they discovered Yanisha with gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
