Luvina Markia McCann, an 18-year-old female, was fatally shot in Flint, Michigan on April 27, 2025. A resident of Detroit, McCann was in Flint with friends celebrating their prom. They had stopped at a house party on Thomas Street on the city's west side.
In the early morning hours, an altercation broke out at the party, leading to gunfire. McCann was shot multiple times. When Flint police officers arrived at the scene shortly after 2 a.m., they found her already deceased.
At the time of her death, McCann was the mother of an eight-month-old daughter and was also 13 weeks pregnant.
As of late 2025, the Flint Police Department has not publicly identified any suspects or announced any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest. Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward for tips that result in an arrest in the case. The family of Luvina McCann has also pleaded for anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible for her death to justice.
