Ashley Williams, a 34-year-old woman, was killed on the evening of Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home on Browning Avenue. Emergency services rushed Williams to Hurley Medical Center. In a desperate attempt to save her unborn child, a Genesee County Sheriff's deputy performed CPR in the ambulance, maintaining blood circulation long enough for doctors to perform an emergency C-section. Her son, who she had named Isaiah, was delivered and initially survived. However, the joy of his birth was short-lived. After fighting for his life for more than a day in the neonatal intensive care unit, baby Isaiah passed away. His underdeveloped lungs were not strong enough to sustain him. The family, who had considered Isaiah a "miracle" baby as Ashley had not thought she could conceive, were left to grieve a double loss.
The Flint Police Department is investigating Ashley Williams' death as the city's fifth homicide of the year. Authorities have stated that they do not believe the shooting was a random act and have indicated that Williams may have known her assailant.
