On a tragic day in September 2021, the life of 65-year-old Barbara Jo Cunningham Sougstad, a retired nurse known for her gentle and caring nature, was brought to a violent end in her Windsor Township, Michigan, home. A woman who had dedicated over three decades to caring for others, and who found joy in her family, horses, and the outdoors, became a victim in a shocking act of violence that also claimed the lives of her husband, John Sougstad, and their son, Ryan Sougstad.
