Robert E. Cochran, a 32-year-old male deputy sheriff with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana, was tragically shot and killed on January 30, 1978. Cochran was working on special detail at a bank on Metairie Road when the incident occurred. During the robbery, one of the suspects entered the bank and observed Cochran.
