On the evening of September 30, 2021, Lawanda Lashon Drake, a 48-year-old Black/African American female from Saginaw, Michigan, was reported missing. The situation took a devastating turn the following morning when her body was discovered in her home. She had sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation into her death revealed a heart-wrenching family tragedy. Lawanda Drake's death was determined to be a murder-suicide, perpetrated by her son.
He was also found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Buena Vista Township.
Given that the individual responsible for Lawanda Drake's death was also deceased, no arrests were made in connection with the case.
