On a Thursday morning in Detroit, Michigan, 55-year-old Karl Lock Lockridge was beginning his day like any other. A long-time employee of the Wayne County Road Commission, he was preparing to leave for work on June 16, 2022. As he was backing his car out of his driveway on Outer Drive near Meyers, the morning routine was shattered by the sound of gunfire.
