Homer Lafayette Everett, a Prohibition Agent, met a tragic end on May 2, 1931, in Collins, Mississippi. His death was a direct result of his duties as a federal agent during the Prohibition era. On the day of his death, Everett was traveling from Gulfport, Mississippi, to Jackson to attend a federal court hearing.
