Captain Stanley C. Adams, aged 45, tragically lost his life on April 24, 1996, in Jackson, Mississippi. Captain Adams was a dedicated firefighter with the Jackson Fire Department, having served for 20 years. On that fateful day, he was one of the victims in a mass shooting at the central fire station in Jackson. The perpetrator, Kenneth Tornes, a fellow firefighter, went on a shooting spree, targeting his supervisors after killing his estranged wife earlier that day.
