On the night of November 17, 2022, in Jackson, Mississippi, 22-year-old Dakota White was fatally shot in a violent episode that also claimed the life of 37-year-old John Ellis Smith. The double homicide occurred on Mill Street, where Capitol Police were called to the scene.
