Kevin Demitrius Slater, a 24-year-old resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on January 13, 1999. Slater, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, had been living in Gulfport for several years and was well-regarded in his community. He was a 1993 graduate of Harrison Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having received multiple awards for his service, including the Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
