Deputy Sheriff Dewayne Arlyn Crenshaw, aged 62, tragically lost his life on December 3, 2010, while on duty with the Tippah County Sheriff's Department in Mississippi. Deputy Crenshaw was responding to a domestic dispute call at approximately 4:00 am in a rural area near Ripley, Mississippi. Upon arrival at the scene on County Road 500, he and another deputy encountered a male subject outside the home. As they made contact with the individual, Deputy Crenshaw was fatally shot.
