On a Wednesday afternoon in Starkville, Mississippi, the life of 27-year-old Tyrell Deshon Gillespie was cut short by gunfire. The fatal shooting occurred on June 11, 2014, in the parking lot of the Louisville Street Apartments. Gillespie sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Oktibbeha County Coroner.
