Mark Mayfield, a 57-year-old attorney and vice chairman of the Mississippi Tea Party, passed away on June 27, 2014, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. His death was ruled an apparent suicide, as he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in the storage room of his garage. A large caliber revolver was discovered near his body.
