In the late hours of a Monday night in Meridian, Mississippi, a well-known and beloved member of the downtown community, Bobby Ray Armstrong, met a tragic and violent end. The 55-year-old man, who was deaf and mute, was discovered shot multiple times in the back in the 600 block of 33rd Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight on September 9, 2014.
