In a quiet home on County Road 521, just outside of Saltillo, Mississippi, a domestic tragedy unfolded, leaving a family and community in shock. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 9, 2014, the lives of Shelia Ann Tutor, a 50-year-old female, and her husband were cut short in what authorities would later describe as an apparent murder-suicide. The couple was discovered inside their residence after Lee County Sheriff's deputies responded to a shots-fired call around 1:30 p.m.
Investigators found both Shelia and her 58-year-old husband, Danny Tutor, deceased at the scene. It was revealed that the couple had been going through a divorce, and law enforcement had previously been called to the home. The investigation, led by the Lee County Sheriff's Department, pointed towards a grim conclusion where Danny Tutor is believed to have shot his wife before taking his own life. Several weapons were recovered from inside the house.
Shelia, born on September 15, 1964, in Andalusia, Alabama, was a mother and grandmother who was co-owner of a lawn care business before becoming disabled. She was remembered for the love she had for her family and the time she cherished with them. Her sudden and violent death left a void in the lives of her children and grandchildren. The case, being a murder-suicide, concluded with the death of the sole suspect, her husband, bringing a somber end to the investigation, with no arrests to be made.
