Joseph Lee Mitchell, aged 43, tragically lost his life on April 14, 2015, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. According to reports, Mitchell was found shot in the chest in his front yard around 3:30 p.m. on that fateful Tuesday. The Copiah County coroner, Ellis Stuart, confirmed that Mitchell died at the scene from a single gunshot wound inflicted by a 7mm-08 rifle. The incident shocked the local community, as Mitchell was well-known in the area.
