In the summer of 2015, a man by the name of Juan Carlos Patino Mora, 34 years old, was at a motel in Jackson, Mississippi. On the night of July 25th, his life was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed.
Following the shooting, an investigation was launched by the Jackson Police Department. The case was classified as a homicide, and detectives began searching for those responsible for Mr. Patino Mora's death.
Their efforts led to the identification of two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting. Warrants were issued for the arrests of Christopher Sumrall and Devante Thompson. Thompson was apprehended by authorities, while the search for Sumrall continued. Subsequently, Sumrall was also taken into custody.
Both Christopher Sumrall and Devante Thompson were charged with murder in the death of Juan Carlos Patino Mora. During their initial court appearance, a judge denied bond for both men, and they were ordered to remain in jail as the legal proceedings against them commenced.
