Shawn Martin Butler, aged 33, and his mother, Barbara Butler Conerly, aged 64, were tragically shot and killed in their home in McComb, Mississippi, on January 15, 2016. The incident was initially investigated to determine whether it was a murder-suicide or a double homicide. However, the absence of a gun under either body led investigators to conclude that an outside shooter was responsible.
