In the winter of 2016, the community of McComb, Mississippi, was shaken by the violent deaths of a mother and her son. On the morning of Friday, January 15th, 33-year-old Shawn Martin Butler and his 64-year-old mother, Barbara Butler Conerly, were found deceased in their home on Avenue L.
