In a tragic turn of events on August 5, 2025, McComb Police Sergeant Jason N. Blake, a 39-year-old male, lost his life in a violent encounter in Pike County, Mississippi. Even though he was off-duty, Blake was responding to a call for help at a residence near Highway 44 and Cole Thomas Road. It was there that he was fatally shot.
