Barbara Butler Conerly, aged 64, and her 33-year-old son, Shawn Martin Butler, were tragically shot and killed in their home in McComb, Mississippi, on January 15, 2016. The incident was initially investigated to determine whether it was a murder-suicide or a double homicide. However, the absence of a gun under either body led investigators to conclude that an outside shooter was responsible.
