The promising life of Bryson, an employee of
Omega Motion and a member of the Word of Faith Church, was cut short that evening on Brevard Place. Following the argument and fistfight, his younger brother, 20-year-old Christopher Heard, is said to have retrieved a nine-millimeter handgun and shot his older brother. The single gunshot proved to be fatal, leaving a community in shock and a family grappling with an unimaginable loss.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Christopher Heard fled the scene, embarking on a desperate journey that took him through Memphis, Holly Springs, and New Albany. However, law enforcement officials were able to track him down, and he was ultimately apprehended in Tupelo on Coley Road. He was subsequently charged with the murder of his brother, and his bond was set at one million dollars.
