William Boyd McCollum, aged 81, tragically passed away on April 26, 2016, in Macon, Mississippi. He was found dead at the Cockrell Funeral Home, having suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred in the afternoon, and McCollum was pronounced dead at the scene by the Noxubee County Coroner, R.L. Calhoun. The funeral director, who was inside the building at the time, heard the gunshot and discovered McCollum slumped over outside the funeral home.
