In the summer of 2016, a family dispute in Jackson, Mississippi, tragically escalated, leaving a young man dead and his uncle facing a murder charge. The victim was 20-year-old Kahlil Ryals, a male resident of the city. On the evening of Friday, July 22, 2016, Ryals was at the Express Fuel Gas Mart located on Bailey Avenue. An ongoing argument between Ryals and his uncle, Curtis Ryals, reached its fatal conclusion at this location.
