On July 22, 2016, Kahlil Ryals, a 20-year-old resident of Jackson, Mississippi, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at the Express Fuel gas station located at the corner of Bailey Avenue and Fortification Street. The incident occurred during a family dispute that escalated into violence. According to reports, Kahlil was shot by his uncle, Curtis Ryals, who was 38 years old at the time.
