On October 4, 2016, a somber discovery was made at Presidential Hills Park in Jackson, Mississippi. As residents arrived at the park for their morning exercise along the walking track, they encountered the lifeless body of a man lying on the grounds. The victim was identified as Justin Jones, a 32-year-old Black male who had been at the location the previous evening. Authorities determined that he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and back, injuries that proved fatal.
