In the late spring of 2017, a grave incident disrupted the community of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Lakesha Raton Davis, a 43-year-old female, was violently assaulted on June 12, 2017. She sustained life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. For eleven days, she fought for her life, a period of anguish and uncertainty for her loved ones.
