In the spring of 2018, the community of Louisville, Mississippi, was shaken by the violent death of 17-year-old Tylan Mikel Glenn. On the night of Saturday, March 24, 2018, Tylan, a Black male, was fatally shot multiple times at close range while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the Mount Moriah Circle neighborhood.
