In the early morning hours of July 1, 2018, a dispute in a Columbus, Mississippi apartment complex parking lot turned fatal, ending the life of 21-year-old Adarious O’Neal. The young Black man was shot during an altercation at The Reserve Apartments on 31st Avenue North at approximately 2 a.m.
