In the late evening of a Sunday in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 28-year-old Eddie Hester. On September 29, 2019, shortly before 6:30 PM, law enforcement received a distress call from a family member at a residence on Splunge Road, reporting a shooting had occurred within the home.
Upon their arrival, Monroe County deputies discovered a grim scene.
Eddie Hester, a male, was found deceased inside the house, having succumbed to gunshot wounds. Another family member who had been present during the altercation was also injured, though their wounds were not considered life-threatening and they were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. The initial investigation pointed towards a domestic conflict as the catalyst for the fatal shooting.
In the aftermath of the incident, the investigation swiftly led to an arrest. Authorities took Eddie Hester's own father into custody in connection with the shooting.
