In the quiet setting of the Canton Sportsplex parking lot, a grim discovery was made on December 18, 2020. A city worker happened upon the body of 35-year-old Dario Jerome Robinson, a resident of Canton, who had been fatally shot. The ensuing investigation, a collaborative effort between the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Canton Police Department, would soon unravel the tragic events that led to his untimely death.
The investigation led authorities to two individuals, Jaheen Harris and Tyjerious Sims. It was determined that their encounter with Robinson was not a chance event, but a robbery that escalated to murder. Investigators concluded that Harris and Sims robbed Robinson of his wallet and his car before Harris shot him. In an attempt to cover their tracks, the suspects drove Robinson's vehicle to a location outside of Canton and tried to set it on fire.
