Jaihlen Sims, a 17-year-old from Canton, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on October 6, 2021, after being shot in the head at his home. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on North Canal Street. According to Canton Police Chief Otha Brown, Sims was inside his home when someone drove up and fired several shots into the house. Sims was holding his two-month-old son at the time and was attempting to take cover when he was struck by a bullet.
