The subsequent investigation
by the Philadelphia Police Department swiftly led to the identification of two suspects. Demonte Renfroe, 18, and Kornelious I'Tavan Triplett, 21, both from Philadelphia, were implicated in the violent incident. According to authorities, the motive behind the shooting was robbery. Renfroe and Triplett allegedly assaulted and robbed Arnold and another individual, making off with an undisclosed sum of money and property.
Within days of the fatal shooting, law enforcement apprehended the two men. Renfroe was taken into custody on February 21, 2022, followed by Triplett's arrest the next day. Both men were charged with capital murder and armed robbery in connection with Arnold's death.
